Having cared for my late grandmother I picked up a few methodolgies as to what works for arthritis inflamation and what does not. Pain killers do nothing but treat the symptoms while mending nothing.
Things like sunflower and corn oil would inflame and aggravate my grandmothers condition, and we learnt to avoid them.
What helped her was her losing weight and exercising. As to diet all berries seemed to help her as well as broccoli. Olive oil is an anti inflamatory and we would pour it over everything, and this helped along with her taking hot baths.
These simple 'cures' helped her to manage her arthritis pain without having to resort to taking a lot of painkillers, which affect the liver.

The above color scheme makes it virtually impossible to read the writing.

You have fixed it and it now looks good, well done. Thanks, have no idea what I am doing. Not a computer person, so have been playing with buttons and watching page previews along the way, so making a lot of changes trying to get the forum where I like it.

Losing weight can help by taking stress off of the joints, and by helping increase thyroid function, which reduces inflammatory homocysteine.
You are right about pain killers. They only mask symptoms, and they can be detrimental to the liver as well as the kidneys, heart and brain leading to kidney failure, heart attacks or strokes. The pain killers known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) also lead to cartilage degeneration, which can make arthritis worse.
Best way of controlling chronic inflammation though is to support the adrenal glands, as the adrenal glands produce the body's own anti-inflammatory corticosteroids, as well as help maintain proper thyroid function. This is best done with vitamin C and pantothenic acid (B5) sources, as well as adaptogenic herbs.
Some of my favorite adrenal supporting herbs are licorice root, yucca root, schisandra berry, amla, rose hips, pollen, ashwagandha, suma, jiaogulan (Gynostemma), and nettle leaf.
